Default heat rash

We've just moved away from dry, mild SF Bay area summers to hot, humid
northeast summers and ds 14 mos is getting terrible heat rash. He's
usually more on the sweaty side anyway, and this heat and humidity has
done him in. He's all rashy all the way around his neck, hairline, and
scalp. Short of giving him a brushcut (I'm loathe to cut his still fine
baby hair, hasn't been cut yet!) any ideas to relieve especially his
rashy scalp? The neck area I can tame with the nice powder we use, but
the hairline and scalp seem to really bother him sometimes. I'd prefer
something herbal like some kind of a rinse or natural shampoo or
homeopathic as opposed to something medicinal like a cortico-steroid
type of a thing.

Thanks for any ideas!

Make sure you aren't over-dressing him. We put our excess heat out through
our heads.

In high summer, the baby probably needs a layer *less* than you are wearing
(though I should check what you mean by hot and humid, I suppose!).
