Lost my plug...how long to go? Advice needed
Hi all...I'm a very infrequent poster/mostly lurker with a question. I'm 35
weeks pregnant with b/b twins. Each weighs about five pounds and they've both been doing great. On Saturday my mucous plug came out, and I've been having increasingly painful but irregular contractions ever since. I went to my OB today to be monitored and found out that I'm one centimeter dilated (woohoo!!!) I am so huge, tired of being pregnant, and emotionally ready to have these babies, and I'm curious as to how long the experienced moms here took to go into labor after they lost their plug. All replies greatly appreciated! TIA, Elissa ---------- Elissa - Mommy to Rebecca Meagan 9/6/00 & twins edd 10/28/03 "Before I got married, I had six theories about bring up children; now I have six children and no theories." - John Wilmont, Earl of Rochester |

I get to answer my first "experienced birth-giver" question :-) I started losing pieces of my mucous plug on labor day (Sept 1st) and lost bits of it over the course of the next couple of weeks. I didn't have my baby until the 21st. I know that the plug can regenerate, but I don't think mine did, because I stopped seeing the bits about 5 days before I went to labor and never saw any more. -- Em mama to Lann, 9/21/03 |
