Default Mobile Robot for Childcare?

I came across this mobile robot online and I think it could be a
solution for parents with kids that have been called "latch-key kids".
I can also see where it would be useful if a kid was sick with a cold
and needed to stay home from school, but mom or dad didn't really have
to 'stay at their bedside'. It's called a CareBot and it seems to be
designed to help people by using automatic navigation, person tracking,
and a customizable verbal interaction package. The main benefit for
childcare I see is it has a webcam to allow for remote visiting - you
can check in on the kids from anywhere that has internet and a web
browser. Mom or Dad could make sure their kids got home from school or
that their kid's cold hasn't gotten any worse from their desk at work.
You can also program in daily reminders and even add jokes for the
robot to say. The website is http://www.geckosystems.com. Does anyone
else think this could work?

Yeah right. When there is a fire in the house it can even run up stairs and
carry your kid to safety... What do you mean it can't climb stairs? Perhaps
it can work a fire extinguisher? No? Perhaps it can stop you kid taking too
many asprin? What you mean it can't tell he's taking the wrong med?

From what I've read on the website this robot can detect fires, notify

emergency, and then start saying something like "there's a fire in the
house, you need to get out right now"

Perhaps it can work a fire extinguisher?

The website says that you can customize the CareBot with just about
anything you want. They even said something about bomb detectors built
in.
