I wouldn't assume that--despite being short and short
waisted and *HUGE* I had a succesful (and easy) version at nearly
38 weeks.

Not my experience but my Mum's - she had a version at 38 weeks, no problems
until the baby decided to turn back to breech while she was in the car on
the way home!

He was eventually born 3.5 weeks later, having turned back to cephalic
again, weighing 10lbs4oz and 22 inches long. Mum's only 5'2 as well.

Yeah, that's me. I look like a beached whale.

I used to just say that I looked hugely pregnant, which is what I was.

The only time any whale comments came up was with DH when I was asking
if he still found me attractive. He would always reply some to the
effect of "You are carrying my child. How could you not be
beautiful?" When pushed, he would reply, "Bleached whale or not, I
always find you attractive." Of course, he used to kiss the baby
through my belly daily too. Man, I love my husband!

fair, but given that last time he appeared to be trying to move in every
direction possible, I conclude the reason he didn't end up in an odd
position was because he couldn't, I may be proved wrong!
