Default I think we are coming to a close

....sometime in the near future. Jessica is now 18.5 months and for the last
couple of weeks has only nursed 1-2 times/day.

Dh is putting her to bed these days so she doesn't nurse then, she doesn't
EVER ask for it during the day, she's WAAAAAAY too busy to even think about
it, and she's starting to sleep a bit later in the mornings now (hopefully
it's not just a phase, I'm tired of 5:15am!) so I don't feel the need to
bring her into bed to get some extra sleep.

The only time she nurses is nap. I don't really see us dropping that any
time soon since she pretty much nurses to sleep although she will go to
sleep for anyone else with no trouble.

I said I'd re-evaluate at two, but it doesn't look like we'll get there!

Well, congratulations for getting to 18.5 months!

You've done much longer then some new moms will ever do

I think you will, it can be a very slow transition from 2 to 1 to none, some
children stick on 1 feed a day for a year or more!

You may be surprised. YoungBloke (30mo) nurses 1-2 a day and has done
for the last year or so. First thing in the morning and at bed-time,
and the breakfast feed isn't fixed (bed-time is, though).

Thanks everyone, I was thinking this myself, but apparently she's very
easily distracted. A cute story: Yesterday morning dh brought her in when
she woke and she asked to nurse. She was on for probably less than five
minutes when all of a sudden she heard dh's cereal hit the bowl in the
kitchen. She popped off the breast, said, "Ah wa ce-wal", slid off the bed
and padded off into the kitchen for her bowl of cereal! I was dropped like a
bad habit for a bowl of cereal, lolol!

Easily distracted? Five minutes is a long feed! Well, it is for YoungBloke.
He was always a fast feeder, though.
