phimosis and surgery at 22 years old

My name is Fabio and I'm italian. I'm sorry if my language is not quite
correct..
I'm 22 and I'm suffering of Phimosis.
I've recently read in an italian portal that one cause of phimosis is the
retraction of the foreskin in childhood.
My generation was grow up with the idea that the retraction of the foreskin
was the only way to keep it clean.
New study explain that this retractions of the foreskin produce a deep
restriction of the foreskin, because of a lot of little mini scares.
The clear result is that a lot of boys of my generation have this problem.
What is the solution?
a lot of people say me that the only solution is surgery.. I've heard that a
sort of massage can help this problem, and contribute to give more
elasticity to the foreskin.
Is it true? can you suggest me site or materials?
