update and blog
I'm now past 12 weeks, though that doesn't feel particularly magical,
for some reason I'm acutely aware of the possibility of missed miscarriage. In my other pregnancies I'd had a scan this point, both were due to severe abdominal pain, though I'd have had one anyway in the first pregnancy, I'd decided on no routine ultrasounds by the 2nd. So in someways I should see this as a good thing, I had a few moments of quite severe round ligament pain and a few cramps here and there, but they never lasted, unlike before. I didn't really consider whether I would feel this way when saying no thanks to an early scan. However I am feeling more positive today, I may not have a bump or much visible to the outsider, but I can feel the top of my uterus higher this week than last, which is a pretty good sign things are still growing! We have our next midwife appointment on Tuesday, so far we've talked first then done any examination at the end, I think this time I'll be asking to examine and try and listen for the heartbeat at the beginning, it seems a bit silly for me to be asking more delivery questions only to find things aren't go to happen! I'm blogging at http://mumprime.blogspot.com How are all the other pregnanct mommies? Kat? Carlye? anyone else? Cheers Anne |

I wouldn't be too worried about the lack of a baby bump just yet... Doesn't always seem that one day, out of nowhere, we find that there's a huge one there and wonder when, exactly, THAT happened? I noticed a couple pics on your blog - heh... I think I am starting to see something. From a nice, flat tummy to what looks like a good start I'm around, although lately I've been feeling HORRIBLE. My online calendar says I'm in week 31 now. I always forget haha On Saturday, DD1 wiped out on the sidewalk, and long story short, she smashed her teeth and broke them. One top front tooth broke almost in half, the other top front one broke on the bottom only. We spent some of Saturday afternoon at the Emergency Dental place here, where I found out that a nerve was exposed and boy her teeth look horrible. I *feel* horrible over it Now we have an appointment for the initial consultation at the pediatric dental place where they're going to properly fix that tooth with the nerve and fix her teeth so they look like they did before. Ugh... Still makes me feel sick in the stomach when I think about that whole situation. And I am so scared after they were saying they'd put DD1 to sleep to do this dental work... Sunday EVERYONE was very busy being really sick. I think there's something going around as all 3 kids were throwing up often enough. Now last night I was in bed around 830-9 or so and was fighting an urge to get sick myself I still feel sick now and actually passed out on the couch for a while this afternoon... My mom took DS to the movie I had promised him a while back, but I still have to deal with DDs - who, luckily, are still sleeping. I've just been feeling horrible lately, and catching something doesn't help. I'm going to get my iron tested real soon to see if that could be causing my inability to stay awake during the day when NOT sick. My stomach moves and mutates pretty much 24/7. Sometimes it can get both annoying and even a little jolt of pain if there's a foot (or something) shoved where it shouldn't be. It sure has been quiet around here lately. I wonder where everyone is! |

I think I am starting to see something. From a nice, flat tummy to what looks like a good start It wasn't so much my size that was making me worry, I know there is a huge range of normal and I know I have pretty strong abs, it was more than I had quite bad sickness, that suddenly stopped around 8 or 9 weeks, which was too early, a growing bump would have reassured in spite of that. Funnily enough I've been feeling really sick again the past couple of days and actually was sick yesterday. I'm around, although lately I've been feeling HORRIBLE. Sounds like a crazy weekend. I hope the dental stuff gets sorted and that you feel a little better, maybe the iron test will show something, but iron tablets can make you feel pretty rough, so I'm not sure they help overall, you just have different symptoms! Total aside: I was just skimmiing your blog and came across the "milk
post" (http://mumprime.blogspot.com/2008/11/achy-legs.html): Have you tried lactose free milk at all? Try it if you get a chance, it doesn't taste different (not that I can tell anyway). cu nicole |

Hi Anne,
I didn't realize you had Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. I had wondered why you always seem to have problems, now I understand. My friend had this also. It is strange now to hear of someone else having it. I hope things go well for you. -- Sue (mom to three girls) "Anne Rogers" wrote in message ... I'm trying wheat free though and I haven't felt like that this week, so maybe that is helping. Cheers Anne |

I hope things go well for you. Glad it all makes sense, it does explain my problems quite nicely, but plenty of people have lots of problems particularly in pregnancy that aren't nicely explained away by some kind of syndrome. Seems like it's one of those conditions that's rare enough that caregivers aren't usually familiar with it. I had one doctor once who had never seen an EDS patient until the week he saw me, but he saw 3 of us all in the same week! Cheers Anne |

I meant for your daughter ;-) you mentioned she gets a lot of mucous after drinking regular milk and the lactose may cause that. cu nicole |
