Is this what's in store for children...
Recently a Christian fundamentalist front organization, by
invitiation, gained access to a federal agency, after many years of lobbying. They were invited and welcomed by ageny top administrators. For what purpose? To "assist" (that is write) in creating the language of an amendment to a law that involves child protection. This new amendment is designed to force child protection agencies to go even beyond the police requirements to inform a suspect of their rights. Police can detain a suspect for hours before actually reading them their rights and then questioning them while the police question witnesses and others involved, including the alleged victims. This amendment, as it's intended, will deny child protection workers access to victims and witnesses while allowing the perpetrators control of the victim and witnesses on scene while investigators have to scramble for warrants. Unlike the police, who can respond to a 911 call, or even being flagged down by a passerby, child welfare investigators may have to stop, find a judge (no matter the hour or day of the week), convince the judge they ALREADY have evidence sufficient to issue a warrant, and only then proceed. It has been widely proclaimed by the enemies of child protection that this "right" must be respected. A right that did NOT exist until this amendment was created. Is this is a flagrant attempt to take the spotlight off child abusers. To free them to torture children more? I think it is. Why the fundies involvement? Do they WANT to protect and encourage child abuse? They's say they don't. But evidence is begining to surface that they indeed want to change the standards of what is and isn't child abuse...and it is possible, want to set the standards to their level. We have to ask ourselves, just what do they consider acceptable parenting standards and why they want to set those at the federal level, as a rule for all parents in this country. In time, after this camel gets its nose under the edge of the tent, and more power and authority is diverted to Theopolitical activists (something that flies in the face of our constitution...but seems to be underway in Washington and across America) you could be publically castigated for NOT whipping your children, and even, as the trend has been in some conservative areas, taken to court and convicted of CHILD NEGLECT because you DON'T spank and your child was involved in a crime. The state of Oregon already has some local laws that does charge the parent with a crime when a teen gets into trouble with the law. Here is one of the child rearing standards that some Christians promote...and note, this is already a popular source for tens of thousands of Christians, NOW. http://tinyurl.com/o7pu A few bits from the revealing article: ............."In a soothing, authoritative tone, the guide further assured Lori and Theo that, if they adhered to the book's recommendations, their baby would sleep through the night by approximately 8 weeks of age, cry less than other babies and even have a reduced risk of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and learning disabilities down the road." .............."a huge, for-profit "parenting ministry" based in Simi Valley, Calif. GFI has stated that its goals as an organization are "to capture the hearts and minds of the next generation," because "it takes two generations to affect change (sic). We gave the last over to the ideological humanists; they have our tax dollar and the public classroom to bring about their agenda. We cannot collectively capture the minds of the next generation without educating the minds of today's parents."" The above statement, which alludes to the Christian homeschooling movement, and most Christian and other homeschoolers in hot debate and fighting against these fundamentalist and right wing Theopolitical adventurers. E-mail loops and other on line private groups are flaming with discussion. ............."Although GFI makes no attempt to obfuscate its own agenda as an activist evangelical Christian organization in its other, openly religious materials, parents who buy or are given the seemingly mainstream "Babywise" books have no way of knowing that the books' advice is based largely on GFI's own unique biblical interpretations." For the next excerpt you may want to get a barf bag........ ............"After babies reach only 6 months of age, parents are instructed to begin punitive disciplinary measures such as "squeezing or swatting" of the child's hands or "isolation" in the crib for "rebellious" infractions including "foolishness," "malicious defiance" or even playing with food on the highchair tray. Ezzo explains to parents that the use of "pain" and "discomfort" can be essential disciplinary tools. After age 2 and a half, children who have a toileting accident are required to clean themselves up." Apparently James Dobson has had some influence on the next generation of child torturers. It's my belief that these are the aims of the group and cohorts that now have the ear of our current federal administration who has itself exhibited more than enough evidence to set Americans to wondering if we haven't already succumbed to a Theopolitical takeover. More to come folks, more to come. Kane |

Meanwhile, the little child is left unprotected in the hands of the alleged perpetrator. Rob a store or assault your neighbor, the police can respond. Hurt a defenseless child, leave the child to be further damaged. It has been widely proclaimed by the enemies of child protection that this "right" must be respected. A right that did NOT exist until this amendment was created. Which is why the amendment was created. Enemies of child protection wanted to ensure that the biological parents as perpetrators of child abuse had far more rights than perpetrators of any other crime where the victim is an adult. What's up with that garbage? LaVonne |
