Chicken Pox Vaccine
"Rob and Laura" wrote in message le.rogers.com... How many people here got their child vaccinated with the Chicken Pox vaccine? DS is 2.5 and we haven't gotten it done yet. I consider myself somewhat on the fence regarding vaccinations. I agree with the theory of vaccinating, but I think things have gotten a little carried away, and it bugs me a little to pile on the shots into such little bodies . . . I really don't mind if he picks up chicken pox at some point. It's required here for kids to have the chicken pox vaccine in order to start kindergarten, so I figure we'll get it done then. I'm the same way with DD (5 mos). I'm following the AAP recommendations for the most critical vaccines that are pertinant to her health, age, and our location, but we're holding out on some of the less pertinant ones until she's a little older (things like Hepatitis and Polio). I plan on fully vaccinating her, but I don't see the point in piling them up on a months-old baby. -- Jodi SAHM to Oliver (2 years, 7 months) & Arwen (5 months) |
