Lochia or period?
Brittany was born June 25th and so I'm now 6 weeks post partum as of
yesterday. At about 4 weeks, lochia tapered off to pretty much nothing. So about a week and a half went by of no blood, not red, pink, brownish, etc. So then about four or so days ago, the bleeding started again. Bright red and it hasn't stopped. There's little clots too. It looks like it could be a period but the time in between lochia stopping and this bleeding seems too short for it to be a period. I'm really worried that maybe I have an infection or something, all though there's no noticeable smells or anything to it. What do you all think? |

Lochia or period?
Have you done anything strenuous - lifting or more exercise than you have
been doing? Sometimes lochia can stop and then start again if you do something strenuous. Be sure to take an iron supplement to stop getting anaemic and if the clots worry you then see your docto - you should be seeing your doctor in the next week or two for your post natal check so mention it and see what they say - yes it could be your period and often the first period is heavier than normal - avoid using tampons - continue to use sanitary towels or maternity pads.
