hales lookup & another question

my dr has prescribed me aprinox 5mg (for fluid retention). obviously the dr
said it was ok for breastfeeding. but the pharmacist said no. what does
hales say? i would be worried that it would dry up my milk supply.

also, dr suggested evening primrose oil daily & vitamin b6 in addition to my
prenatal daily. does anyone know about these with breastfeeding?

It's very strange.

It's approved by the AAP for use in breastfeeding mothers.

But Hale says: "Bendroflumethiazide is a thiazide sometimes used to suppress
lactation. In one study, the clinician found this thiazide to effectively
inhibit lactation. Use with caution. Not generally recommended in
breastfeeding mothers." Lactation risk category L4. Reduced milk production
is listed as an adult concern.

On the one hand, it's an old study. But I've never seen such a conflict
between the AAP recommendation and Hale's recommendation.
