Odd places to nurse a toddler!
I have done but I feel very exposed if I'm tandem nursing the two of them.
I guess it depends on how public you call public, in front of friends and family, yes, more times than I can count and if they don't like it they can always not look! Wish I could get the hang of nursing with a sling - just cant't get it to work (just for one at a time I mean). Ellie "Anne Rogers" wrote in message ... I haven't nursed anywhere odd yet .... but I've just volunteered to demonstrate nursing twins at the twin parentcraft classes at the hospital where I delivered! That's gonna seem weird, I've no idea how many are in the class! Guess I'll find out on the 26th .... ;-) good for you! do you NIP with your twins? |

Odd places to nurse a toddler!

So what are the wierdest places you've nursed your toddler (or infant)? Nowhere too weird -- a museum, the zoo, etc. When I was a baby, however, my mom nursed me in front of groups of five- and six-year olds as part of their classes on human sexuality. She would be invited to their parents' houses for tea, and casually told "oh, bring the baby, will you?" so their kids could see how this all worked. We were new in town and she hadn't made any friends yet, so she went along with it. -- Sara, accompanied by the baby barnacle |

Wish I could get the hang of nursing with a sling - just cant't get it to work (just for one at a time I mean). I found that tricky until ds had some head support. I can't remember exactly when we figured it out, but I know I was happy nursing in the sling when we were on our holidays, ds was 3.5 months then. I don't really consider friends and family public, particularly not if they have come to my house. I was wondering about if you had done in a cafe or anywhere. I frequently nurse in church. When he was feeding often any trip out anywhere meant I had to sit down to NIP. |

Odd places to nurse a toddler!
Cathy Weeks wrote:
Hi all, We just got back from a vacation in Florida, and I ended up nursing Kivi (two years old in December) in two kind of unusual places. 1. The beach. I never thought I'd nurse on the beach - because I wear one-piece swim suits that are just NOT accessible for nursing. But I forgot my swimsuit, and bought a cheap tankini, and I just pulled it up on one side, and let my t-shirt drape around my daughter, allowing enough discretion for my comfort. 2. The Salvadore Dali Museum. Kivi was really tired of being cooped up and asked to nurse. So I found an empty corner (kind of difficult considering there weren't many corners that were far away from any paintings), and she nursed happily. I got a few glances, and a few smiles. No biggie. So what are the wierdest places you've nursed your toddler (or infant)? I never thought any place was too weird. But the most noticeable was at my workplace's children's Winter Party (they hold a party for employees' children) during the magic show. We were sitting (on the floor) in the front row. I don't think the magician even had a clue. Jeanne |

Odd places to nurse a toddler!

Odd places to nurse a toddler!

I have to stick in my two-cents worth... As a current resident of Tampa and a former resident of St Pete, your comment about the location of the Dali made me smile. There's A LOT of territorialism here in the Bay Area. The Dali museum is in St Petersburg, not Tampa. However, I can understand your confusion. After all, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays are in St Pete - and the St Pete Times Forum (a sports and concert arena) is in Tampa. Oh yes, I was confused the WHOLE time I was there. I thought we were staying in Clearwater, but really, we were in Indian Rocks Beach. I never did figure out where the major cities were in relation to one another (Tampa and St. Pete). And the airport in all the search engines is called "Tampa/St. Petersburg". Cathy Weeks Mommy to Kivi Alexis 12/01 |

Odd places to nurse a toddler!
After four babies I can hardly think of anywhere I haven't nursed. I've nursed
in many museums, at several funerals, at political events, while chairing meetings, at my kids' school, at football games, at concerts and plays, at banquets surrounded by strangers, just about anywhere I've happened to be, basically. Leslie |
