The graphs show that advancing medical care helps, too. The graph for polio
is rather misleading. It only shows a short time period before polio
vaccination started.

All of the graphs show that the diseases still kill. I don't know about
John, but I think a death rate above 0 for any disease that is preventable
is too much. Plus, as the evidence shows, not only are death rates lower
with vaccines, but the rate of illness is lower, too. With vaccinations,
there are far fewer hospitalizations and long-term problems from diseases,
like brain damage, as well. For many parents, having to stay home with the
kids means the difference between getting fired and keeping a job or having
to choose between paying for food or electricity.

As Jeff stated mortality rates are of a concern, but not the only
concern! An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

As our medical science is FAR better then even in the 1970's that graph
is an inaccurate representation of vaccinations.

Vaccnations prevent disease, the disease causes death. Therefor to see
if a vacination is working you need to see how many people are sick,
not how many people die.

Many diseases that we are vaccinated for have low mortality rates but
high incidence of permanent damage.

So,where are the charts that show Morbidity rates?
