You do of course realize that after your baby is born you will be
recieving the Canadian Child Tax credit... My hubby makes almost 50G's a
year (which is a heck of a lot more than your hubby makes right now) and
we get 93$ per child per month. So that means you will prolly recieve
around 200$. That is PLENTY of money to buy yourself the needed
groceries per month.

Health Dept will only give you one milk voucher a week, or one can of
formula a week. No food.

Then maybe you should drink the formula (and get the nutrition) and then bf
your baby. That way you get two for one. Seriously.

Actually closer to $400+ a month. At what was it, 1030 dollars a month for
a family of three falls BELOW the poverty line and the baby will be eligible
for extra funds under the CCT. Granted she might have to wait up until 3-4
months for her check.

Overall she is just being ridiculous, there are a HUGE amount of programs
ALL across Canada for low-income families available to everyone who needs
it! Also she has been eligible for at *least* the nutrition supplement put
out by welfare if not extra funds all around. Getting the military to 'look
into it' for her was irresponsible *shaking head*

I'm sorry but she simply has not bothered to put into effort into looking
for help for her health nor the babies if she believes all this garbage
about not being able to breastfeed and ten cans of formula lasting her 6
months. What about looking into some type of work while she was pregnant?!
Gosh she's had nine months!

As I recall, she didn't say anything about not being able to breastfeed. She
just didn't ever intend to breastfeed exclusively, under the (mistaken)
opinion that she wouldn't be able to provide proper nutrition since she
herself is ill-nourished. Nor did she apparently believe that 10 cans of
formula would last 6 months, rather she would get 1 can from government
assistance every (week, month, something like that) and that would be used
to supplement the breastfeeding?
