Its only given if you want to TTC here, from I what I gather. foresees trips to Germany to keep her steady supply flowing after the move How ironic! I know. Its because PCOS is largely only treated by OB/GYNs here, so its viewed as a fertility issue and they do not look at the wider risk factors. Plus my OB is "a sceptic and a cynic" when it comes to Metformin anyway and thinks it just has a placebo effect (she actually wrote to me using those words last week!) However, she agreed anyway, since I told her I wouldn't be taking her preferred course of placebo "treatment" (weekly scans). Then they get all jumpy about you taking it while TTC and I think I'm a rarity to get the agreement to take it during the first trimester. Possibly a first locally. How helpful are the people at Verity, have you tapped into that resource? Holding it in reserve right now - I'll get started on it and then start working on them to extend my time on it. Easier that way than risk having them withdraw the agreement to have it at all! Megan |

"Buzzy Bee" schrieb im Newsbeitrag news I know. Its because PCOS is largely only treated by OB/GYNs here, so its viewed as a fertility issue and they do not look at the wider risk factors. I can't seem to find 'a German view', every doctor seems to have a different view. I'm lucky in that my GP is very big on listening to her patients and trusting that her patients know best, so she prescribes whatever I need because she's impressed with how well I research my concerns. I don't know anyone else here who has such a wildcard as to Metformin therapy - they either get it from their IF centres (and then only until they're pregnant) or find an enlightened diabetes specialist (but have to go off during pregnancy)! However, she agreed anyway, since I told her I wouldn't be taking her preferred course of placebo "treatment" (weekly scans). Lol. Ridiculous! Holding it in reserve right now - I'll get started on it and then start working on them to extend my time on it. Easier that way than risk having them withdraw the agreement to have it at all! That makes sense :-) -- Tatjana PCOS - TTC #1 for 3 years |

Hey You All. We are not TTC officially, but seem to conceive anyway -- I It's silly, but thinking back, I've conceived pretty much every cycle that we have BD'd around my O-date over the last year. I am starting to think that my m/c may not be due to a problem, but rather that my body is too good at sustaining an early pregnancy. Of the 6 cycles that I have charted, 2 have resulted in a m/c, there was at least 1 other very early m/c and I personally believe 1 more. One cycle was unsuccesfull, and on the results of the most recent cycle I will update later I am thrilled to know that I can get pregnant so easily, but OTOH it is such a scary thing after two m/c. Sometimes I wish I could transfer just a little bit of my fertility to others here who are not so fortunate. -- -- I mommy to DS (21m) mommy to two tiny angels (28 Oct 2003 & 17 Feb 2004) guardian of DH (33) |

I feel the same way and my history isn't quite as fertile as yours - 4 pregnancies (Seoras, two definite miscarriages and a probable) from 9 cycles, of which three had no well timed BDing, so more like 4 from 6. My comfort is that the chances of getting lucky are somewhat better if you are conceiving every other cycle than if you are not, though its scant comfort at times. I too wish I could send some of my fertility to those who need it (in exchange for some sticky baby skills). Megan |
