Anyone have a medication category book?
I did something stupid. I am almost 7 weeks pregnant, and have a
severe cold. I was miserable and took 50 mg Diphenhydramine HCI and 30 mg Pseudoephedrine. (Benadryl and Sinutab). Now I am reading about all kinds of birth defects (gastroschisis especially). Does anyone have one of those books that tells the pregnancy category for meds? I am worried sick. Thanks. |

My doctor said Benadryl was fine during pregnancy. So does the medication list in _The Pregnancy Book_ by William and Martha Sears. I think you're okay. Naomi |

My doctor has said during this pregnancy that I can take - Benadryl, Sudafed, Claritin, and Flonase When I had my horrible first trimester head cold/chest infection, I was panicked about taking a Category C drug. I talked to a pharmacist and he said that Sudafed is only a Category C because it raises blood pressure in the third trimester, but has been safe in the first and second trimester. - Joanne |

Anyone have a medication category book?
Thanks so much everyone. I have been reading just awful stuff about
pseudoephedrine in the early first trimester. Like babies intestines being on the outside of their body rather than the inside! |
