Default what do stay at home moms do?

Hey, I have to ask! This is new territory to me. I've always worked and
worked full time. It was a neccessity before as a single mom. Now I'm
married, and we have determined the family is better off if I don't work.
So now what do I do? The house is clean, the groceries stocked up, dinner
is always ready now when hubby gets home. Baby is rocked and entertained
and clean and there's still time left over. I am doing my workouts, and
skiing a couple times a week, but ski season won't last much longer. What
do women do at home?

Read the newsgroups ;o)

When I was just a SAHM (now I work at home) and everything was done, I would
go out and shop or at least just look around at the stores. Go places with
the kids, the park when it was nice. In the winter, it was harder to go
places because I hate the cold. Watch TV, read, play with the kids. I got
really bored because at the time when my girls were little, I had a very
small house and it didn't take much to keep it clean. These days I work at
home, so my days are cramped with working and keeping up with everything
else. You might need to find a hobbie. One thing I wish I had kept up when I
had more time was getting our film developed in a timely fashion and putting
photos in photo albums or you could try your hand at scrapbooking. I also
belonged to a playgroup and we would meet once a week, but that opened up
some friendships, so I started having lunch and playdates with them. It was
only a very short time when I got really bored and decided to start watching
another baby because like I said, I was bored. Then after my second child
was born, I started watching my nephew and that definitely kept me busy.
Good luck.

you have time to do all that, amazing! most people find that the baby takes
up so much time the other things slip, even worse when you have 2 children.

but if you really have time, take up a hobby! get out the house, go to a new
mums group, etc.

I work about half-time, from home. I couldn't figure out how to fill
up the time, either, especially when I had just one.

I'm a SAHM, but I can't relate to your situation in the least bit! I
must be spending too much time on Usenet.

When I had one, things were a lot easier. I now have three. I work part
time for my husband at home. I do all the chores at home, inside and
out since my DH spends 20hours a week commuting on top of work hours
and works one day every weekend.

On mondays I am doing a sewing course at the moment. Tuesdays, I am the
local coordinator of my playgroup. Wednesdays (twice a month) I go to
Australian Breastfeeding Assocation meetings and am training to be a
counsellor with them. Thursdays I volunteer at the local school where
my older two go. Friday I have a child-free day, since my youngest is
in daycare now. One friday a month I work in the school canteen. I have
taken up sewing as hobby. I also regularly make things and sell them on
Ebay.

I would have to say I do not have time to be bored. If I was I would
catch up on reading or maybe watch a little tv.

I have certainly adjusted to life at home and am dreading when my baby
goes to school, since I will have to fit in at least some part time
work outside the home as well.

I have a feeling once she is old enough to walk, it will be a far different
story...

Are you kidding me? YOu have all that done?? Why not write a book on how you
do it, because I'd buy it for sure!

I have a 2-month old at home with me all day and a 3 1/2 year old who goes
to daycare, and I get next to nothing done besides feeding the baby, eating
lunch, and maybe a load of laundry which I forget is in the dryer by the end
of the day. Where am I going wrong?????
