Well since it could be used for breastfeeding, it certainly would have come
in handy when I had to work at the computer (I work at home) and feed a baby
at the same time when both things *had* to be done at the same time.

You needed a privacy shawl when NAK at home? :-)

(As far as I can tell, that's the only sense in which this device can be used
"for breastfeeding." As a nursing canopy.)

Considering that Grabby Girl, aka the droolinator, now reaches for the
keyboard, even if it's at her back, when she's nursing....you know, covering
her up begins to sound very appealing.

I thought it looked good for the Dad, but then my dh was a SAHD for
our first dd. I also thought when it had toys to play with that could
be good like when waiting at the doctors office.

It did seem bit odd to see women doing it when you know their breasts
are right there.

Oh okay, I thought it was able to hold the baby up in place. Then, it would
have been useless. )

'course, you could use a sling or a shawl for that!

| Well that just looks silly! Anyway I actually like having my little man

| What's the next step, a bottle that hangs over the cot, hey it could be on
a

Few hundred years ago, they had one. They even had a bottle on 3 legs that
could stand on the baby's chest so they could eat.... (Info from Milk,

HollyLewis was all, like:
There's something about the pic of the mom bottlefeeding a baby this
way...it's just....weird. Her boob's right there...

You all know what I mean. It just seems...strange.

Hee hee.

I've always found it *really* strange that some BF-ing moms give
their babies bottles sometimes for whatever reason. (Don't like NIP,
when experimenting with a bottle-refusing baby, when supplementing or
weaning to formula, etc.) I mean, I guess you do what you gotta do,
but I don't think I could give my own baby a bottle. It would just
be Way Too Weird. :-)

I did it once, FSR I thought I was having a supply dip one afternoon, and
Sprogly was cranky and wouldn't nap, so I gave him a bottle of EBM. It was
very strange. The few times I've seen Bloke or Daycare Lady giving him a
bottle it was weird, too. I felt strangely uneasy watching. Sprogly has no
preference whatsoever, he just scoffs down his milk...I'm not sure if that's
what bothered me.

The bottle feeders are co-opting attachment
parenting! At least they allow that it CAN
be used for breastfeeding!

I thought it was a sling with built-in bottle holder at first, but I think
it's just the bottle holder. Man that's weird.

I was just thinking the other day though that having that free hand is an
enourmous unsung advantage of nursing. I can eat my dinner and feed the
baby at the same time for instance.

At least the babies are getting held though - and since the bottle is
sideways from the head, they have some control and can go on/off if they
like. An improvement from the babies point of view I should think, and
isn't that the real meaning of AP? Not just applied biology?
