Need help with nightime training!
nightime training!
From: "Sophie" If she had a diaper on at night, she peed in it. As soon as we put her in underwear at night, she was dry at night (with rare accidents). THis is the case with Jess, too; if she wears a diaper, anytime, she'll pee in it, even though she's perfectly capable of staying dry. That's why I figured I'd give it a try at night when she wanted to. It doesn't matter the least bit to *me* if she wears diapers at night or not, they're no big deal. She does have a rash on her bum that just doesn't clear up though, since she's been in undies at night it's dramatically better (even with the accidents). laurie mommy to Jessica, 2.5 years and Christopher, 8 months |

Matthew wants it too, but after a few miserable nights he finally told me to
put him back in pull ups. Being wet was making him miserable and he really wasn't liking waking up soaked in the middle of the night. She's still pretty young. HTH JennP. It does, thanks! I know, she is young. Most of the accidents have been around 6 am, so I think she's really close (though 2 times it was more like 3 am). She was miserable, too. THough today, she never even woke me up; I heard her awake, went into her room, and found her in new undies, new pants and her pajama top, playing, and she exlaimed "pee pee in my bed mommy!" when I walked in. LOL. laurie mommy to Jessica, 2.5 years and Christopher, 8 months |

It is not expected that a kid who is that young will stay dry at night.

Jenn wrote: there really isn't such a thing as 'night time training' -- they either hold it or they don't. The fact that she wets most nights suggests that she doeesn't have the ability to stay dry all night yet. This is caused by hormones that allow the maturing person to concentrate urine at night like adults do. kids who don't generate that hormone yet, produce volume at night and generally wet. This was true of our daughter - she was night "trained" well before she was completely potty-trained in the daytime, but we can't take any credit for it. Clisby |

Wow, I totally missed this part until I saw your reply to Sophie, which made me come back and look again. I think I paged down and stopped at what I *thought* was the end of your post, but it wasn't. Sorry. My reply must have looked pretty senseless! --Helen Yep sorry, I must have done the same thing or something. |

DS simply didn't wet at night from about 2.5 years old, so once he was ready to be dry at day (which was definatly an emotional rather than physical readiness at over 3 years old), we went straight from nappies to undies. We were lucky. We didn't do a thing! Mary Ann |
