What happened to Democrats?
While superficially off-topic, the question of *What happened to
Democrats?* is entirely germane to the subject of spanking. Today's Democrats are not the party of Franklin Roosevelt or John Kennedy. Nor, have Democrats been the same since Lyndon Johnson occupied the Oval Office in the White House 40 years ago. Much of the New Deal coalition that Franklin Roosevelt put together during the Great Depression abandoned the party when Lyndon Johnson decided to rearrange American society to the delight of feminists. Feeling betrayed by Lyndon Johnson, former Democrats put both Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan into the White House. Former Democrats also put both Bushes into the White House. They also turned on George H. W. Bush when he broke his *read my lips* promise of *no new taxes* and they are currently helping to put his son, George W. Bush into a free fall in public opinion polling. Despite a predominantly Northeastern and largely feminist base, the only Democratic presidents to occupy the White House in the past 40 years have been males from *redneck* Southern states. Lyndon Johnson was of the quasi-Baptist Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) persuasion. Both Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton were Southern Baptists when elected and spoke openly about their religion. Jimmy Carter even taught Sunday School. Although Jimmy Carter would eventually leave the increasingly fundamentalist Southern Baptist Church in 2000, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton arrive in Washington with families and religious affiliation reflecting their origins. Unlike children of both George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush, the children of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton did not make sensational media headlines because of any misadventures while their father was in office. Whether they are registered as Republicans or Independents, former Democrats and their decedents are often swing voters. They will bat on either side of the political plate. At the same time, when they become angry enough to vote, they expect their values to be respected in return for their continued support. Former Democrats have also clearly shown that liberals cannot win high office without a *Southern concession*. Having lost all sense of balance with the departure of almost all conservatives and many moderates during Lyndon Johnson's administration, the Democratic Party is currently dominated by leftwing, frequently rabid feminist, extremists every bit as radical as the Republican reactionaries currently occupying the White House. Despite his pretensions and stage prop ranch, George W. Bush was educated at Philips prep, Yale and Harvard. His attitudes toward life are more Northeastern snob than hard-working Texas cowboy. His religious affiliation is little more than a political weather vane of American values. Meanwhile, the limited appeal of the current Democratic Party is told in the map of red and blue states. Democratic power is largely concentrated in the Northeast. As a region that is losing population to the South and West, it is rapidly becoming a tail trying to wag the dog. If Democrats do not regain some sense of balance in the 2006 midterm election year and 2008 presidential election year is that swing voters may allow Democrats to regain control of both Congress and the White House. Problems will likely develop when Democrats try to impose a crazy leftwing agenda that alienates moderates and infuriates conservatives. Part of that leftwing schema will be A CONTINUED ASSAULT ON THE FAMILY by encouraging the formation of single parent families depending on feminist-dominated no-spank child welfare agencies for even that marginal existence. If they once again alienated swing voters, radical Democrats will then lose control of government to more conservative elements. That Democrats are out of touch with America is clearly indicated by their inability to get their act together even as George W. Bush's poll numbers sink. If Democrats are to regain and, more importantly, maintain power in Washington, the party is going to have to regain its mainstream image. In accomplishing future feats that rival Social Security, in either appearance or substance, the Democratic Party cannot continue to engage in radical leftwing social engineering. Otherwise, any Democratic *party* is over before it starts! A revitalized Democratic Party might start by putting an end to kicking the man out of the house at the first sign of domestic difficulties. That effort alone might attract male voters. In addition to putting No Child Left Behind out of its misery, Democrats might also restore discipline in public schools. It is not healthy, especially for boys, for children to have most of their waking hours controlled and manipulated by females without corresponding male role models. Yet, single parent families headed by women are displacing more traditional family structures and about 90% of elementary school faculty is female. The result of this imbalance can be seen in everything from the rise of youth gangs to the lyrics of rap music. Gangs attract members by offering them 2 things otherwise absent in their lives. One is acceptance. The other is discipline. In sufficiently large numbers, youth gangs can destabilize entire communities. In addition to praising *slapping the bitches around*, the words of rap music often laments the absence of fathers in the performers' lives. Both content should serve as a warning that a groundswell of resentment is building against the current feminist-dominated environment for children. It is also becoming increasingly apparent that never-paddle, yell-their-silly-heads-off, call-the-cops feminist educators have lost control of schools. Not only are there children afraid to even go to school because of bullies, rampant bullying in schools has been cited as a primal cause of school shootings. A newer, equally troubling concern is open sexual activity in schools and rampant, expensive to screen, sexually transmitted diseases among students. Although unable to provide a safe environment in the schoolhouse, ambitious educators are demanding more control of student's lives away from school. Among other related issues, these are matters which Democrats in power will need to adequately address unless, as happened after both Jimmy Carter's and Bill Clinton's White House tenure, Democrats once again lose their political pants to *family friendly* Republicans. |

What happened to Democrats?
Well, you've made some claims. Let's see you support them with facts.
One you could start with is the school shooting and danger at school. You are going to be very surprized if you actually pull up the data. Kids are safer in school than not. Kids are safer from gunfire in schools than not. Sexual abuse in schools is a terrible thing. But the rate is far less than sexual abuse by friends and family in the family home. Today's youth is less criminal than three decades ago. And single parent female households are not a bastion of anti-spank activities. Begin anywhere you like, or you may presume we spot you for the political lying hack you most obviously are. 0:- |
