It's the only stroller I actually like so far... hard to find any
reviews. What do you think?

There would be no way on this green earth I would pay $568 for a stroller.
I just bought a Graco standard stroller (approximately $90 and then bought a
double stroller at a garage sale and an umbrella stroller for $20).

Is it usable when the child is 1+ years old and sitting up? Is it
comfortable for a toddler? I wouldn't pay that much for a stroller, not one
that looks to be for infants only. We had a Combi Perfect Match for Taylor
when she was a baby. It worked with her car seat and also laid flat to use
as a bassinet style. The backrest sits more upright than the Inglesina
looks to, which is necessary when they are sitting up. They don't want to
lean back at all!

When Addie was born we bought a Graco Duoglider, which came with a new
infant car seat and cost about $200+. It was a lot to spend, but makes it
easy to maneuver with both girls. The other benefit to a regular style
stroller that folds flat for infants but allows toddlers to sit upright is
that they are close to the ground, and Taylor can climb in and out on her
own. So, while I'm getting Addie into her seat on the stroller, Taylor is
climbing into her own seat. It doesn't look like a child could climb in or
out of the Inglesina.

It is charming looking, very old fashioned. But not very practical, at
least in my mind.

I'd be interested to see how the car seat fits in, we have the older
version, I think just called Duo and it looks almost identical to that one,
but I can't see how car seats would fit at all! Though it wouldn't be much
use to us like that, the good thing about it is that Ada can lie flat. I've
been surprised how useful I've found it, we didn't buy it til about 6 weeks
ago, 2nd hand and I wish we had had it sooner.

what in particular do you like about it? the vast majority of the features
that I noticed and though, oh that would be good, we have anyway in our 3
wheeler. Think very very carefully about what your stroller usage is going
to be before buying. For example I can imagine that would be a nightmare to
take on the bus or underground (to be honest most are, but that one
particularly so!). I suspect that it woud be quite good to push, certainly I
vastly prefer a horizontal handle bar and fixed rather than swivel wheels.
But what I can't see on the website is anything to turn the bottom into a
carrying space, which in my opinion is absolutely essential even something
light becomes evil to carry if you are pushing a pushchair, shoulder bags
slip off, carrier bags are a nightmare.

The other thing that Jamie points out is the stroller seat, does it go
upright enough? I'm afraid to say that our 3 wheeler definitely falls down
on this, it was fine until about age 2 and a quarter, but not anymore and it
could easily have been sooner, I could see he was getting frustrated and
with the timing of our 2nd it wasn't used much after 22 months anyway.

This is the sort of carriage that is a very personal
choice. We had something similar (Emmaljunga Viking, but
I don't think they're sold in the US anymore), and I really
liked it but knew others who didn't. I assume you'd also
be getting the stroller seat by the time the baby was
sitting up well?

Pros:
- very comfortable
- young infants can lie flat and sleep (very handy
in restaurants and such)
- I don't know about the Inglesina, but the Viking
drove very well and had a very nice ride for baby
- very durable (will last through many kids)
- nice for long walks (the Viking was great for
loading up while shopping, but the Inglesina
doesn't look like it has a basket below?)

Cons:
- heavy
- requires a bit more effort to open up
- doesn't fit easily through tight spaces
- expensive

If you're not wedded to the traditional look, you're in
the same price range as the Bugaboo strollers once you've
added the stroller seat. They have a very contemporary
look, but they are more compact when folded and lighter
weight.

Best wishes,
Ericka

Anne,
The car seat goes in the back seat (closest to whoever is pushing the
stroller) and faces the pusher. You have to put the backrest down all the
way, and then the car seat slides right in and rests on the cupholder
thingy. It only fits in the back seat, if I remember correctly, so while
Addie was in the car seat, Taylor sat in the front. When Addie outgrew her
car seat and wanted to sit upright in the regular seat, we had to switch
seats and put Addie in the front, otherwise she had a habit of pulling on
her sister's hair!

Oh yeah, I found the large storage compartment on the Graco to be incredibly
useful and necessary. And easy to access...some strollers that fold up
smaller have cross bars which make it nearly impossible to put anything
larger than a wadded up t-shirt or bottle in the storage compartment below,
even if the compartment itself is large enough to hold your entire diaper
bag. Frustrating. I'll admit that almost any stroller storage space is
hard to get into when the seat is flat, but you can work around it by going
in near the footspace.

We have a pretty good sized diaper bag, plus my purse, plus any items
aquired while shopping, and everything can go in the storage compartment.
