Default snorkeling?

I have a question. DH and I are getting ready to leave on a vacation
to Jamaica this weekend. We're going with several friends to an
all-inclusive place. I know that I won't be taking advantage of the
included alcohol, horseback riding, or scuba diving, but what about
snorkeling? That's just basically swimming with your face in the
water--is there any reason I shouldn't be able to do that if I feel
like it? Just curious.

Of course, I won't be able to see much, since I can't wear my contacts
at the moment, and I doubt my glasses would fit under the
goggles...Hmm..maybe no snorkeling for me anyways Oh well, I hope
the food is good!

I snorkeled while I was pregnant and we were stationed in Cuba.
I wore my contacts too.

I'm glad to hear about the snorkeling When DH and I went to
Jamaica on our honeymoon, we didn't end up making the snorkeling trip
because of rain, so I was hoping I could go this time!

The only reason I'm not wearing my contacts is that I can't see out of
them--I'd read that pregnancy hormones could make you a bit
short-sighted, but mine was bad enough that my contacts would go out
of focus during rush hour traffic, and I could only make out colored
blurs where cars would be. I have astigmatism in both eyes, and my
toric lenses have always been a little picky--if they get the
prescription just a tiny bit off I either get horrible headaches or
just can't see. My glasses aren't quite as finicky :P (my vision's
not quite as sharp as it was before January, but glasses don't
suddenly lose focus like contacts...) I ended up getting a pair of
prescription sunglasses now too (they didn't cost much more than a 6
month refil of my contacts), so I'm all set.

Aww that stinks.

That sounds scary.

I hate wearing my glasses. I hope your eyes tolerate your contacts soon.
