Default allergic to milk protein...how long?

Hi -

If your infant was diagnosed as allergic to milk protein, not merely
intolerant, then don't try a milk challenge unless under the supervision
of an allergist. Do wait until your child is at least three years old
(old enough to complain if her throat starts to swell or itch, ie,
notify you of non-visible symptoms).

Do confirm that the diagnosis is allergy, not intolerance. You may want
to ask questions on the no-milk listserv about this, since the people
there are very knowledgeable. My web site has information on
joining. (Yup, the listserv is free, and traffic on it tends to be low.)

Thanks Beth!
Your right, a big difference in the two. He was actually diagnosed as
intolerant!
