Default Baby Name Poll :)

When did Italians stop counting as white? "DWEM" *always* includes
Italians, and taken out of constant sunshine most of 'em turn pretty
pasty, you know. My dad and my brother go slightly olive-green in the
winter, admittedly, but no one's yet accused them of being Martians.

I guess because I had a friend that was italian and she would get all ****y if
someone called her a white girl.

(I've never met or heard of an Italian Camille, incidentally. It's a
French name.)

LMAO.....I guess I watch to much Sopranos then!

Unless she's Sicilian with an impressively narrow and inbred bloodline
back to the 10th century, or of significant non-Italian background
comparatively recently, she's got no grounds for getting ****y. Olive
skin might not be very pale but the sun makes most of the difference.
There are very pale (and red-haired) Italians.

Now, see, you're discussing Americans. Not Italians.

Oh my bad ! What was I thinking that everyone that lives here in America are
just plan'ol Americans and not White American, African American, etc. etc. I
guess you know best! LOL

Sheesh. I thought the idea of "Bring me your poor, your hungry" was
integration. But if you will insist on staying tribal about it...
they're still Italian-Americans, not Italians. I thought it didn't need
the smiley but here's one for the HoT. :-)

Seriously, my point was that naming behaviour among one group of people
*on a TV show* doesn't necessarily reflect the behaviour in those
people's 'home' country, especially if they have left it quite some
time since. And Camille is not an Italian name. Girls' names don't end
in e generally. Camilla, fine. Camille, no.
