he is not very interested in anything other then breast milk, straight from
the source. Will eventually take some EBM. NOt very interested in the range of solids, such as rice cereal, fruit, veg, whatever. will put a cruskit in his mouth but is still a bit little for this i think. so, any thoughts? i want him to be taking in a bit more external food. ideally i want to wean him off me now but i wont go into that her, not the forum for that i know! chris |

Have you tried actual table food instead of the purees? Some babies don't care for purees and want to go straight to the table. Also, it's not unusual for seven month olds to not be so interested in solid foods still. ideally i want to wean him off me now but i wont go into that her, not the forum for that i know! Ok, but you are weaning him to formula, right? If you wean before one year he will need formula. I think you should talk to your pediatrician about this. JennP. |

"Mamma Mia" wrote in message u... yes, formula! thanks for pointing it out all the same. chris Well, then as long as he's getting enough whether it is formula or breastmilk, I wouldn't worry about the solids for now. It's still a bit on the early side. Both my kids could have cared less until about 9 months. JennP. |

My first son was like that. We just continued to offer every day and he ate when he was ready which was around 10mos. It was stressful because he went to the sitter and wouldn't eat anything or take bottles but he wasn't going to change his mind ;-) He grew, gained, and developed perfectly fine with nursing alone. He might have started a little earlier but he was sick for a long spell at 9mos but I don't believe there is anything to do other then offer food and try various foods (table foods, purees, hot, cold, different flavors etc.). -- Nikki Hunter 4/99 Luke 4/01 EDD 4/06 |

To avoid certain types of reactions, it is best to continue breast milk for at least 3 to 4 months after introducing foods containing gluten. The reactions are not frequent, but when they occur they are serious. Larry |
