Hi there, anybody got experience with first formula milk? Right now, since I
got problem with my breastfeeding, I start giving formula milk to my 1mth
old baby boy. And, it seems he got constipation. The health visitor
recommend me to give him water, which I tried. But, it seems he still had
it. Anybody got recommendation for formula milk? Which one do you think
good? Or any other way to stop his constipation. Thanks

Try a little prune juice or add dark Karo to his formula.

Karo is not recommended for babies under the age of 1 year due to the
risk of botulism.

CrystalRGarcia74 wibbled

What the hell are you talking about?
It's not clear if she's still breastfeeding. If she is, then
breastmilk will most certainly soften the baby's stools.
Water will not work, and juices aren't usually recommended for
babies so young.

Now, if you must hump my leg, at least make some sense.

You amaze me! I didn't think it was possible for one person to
posses such a vast amount of stupidity!

One typo in an accusation of stupidity (never a good start). One
completely redundant piece of advice (Karo is not a universal
substance). One large amount of attitude, no apparent ability to
follow a logical train of thought, and an apparent inability to
read. Way to go.

Anyway...try a formula feeding group like
http://b21.ezboard.com/fpregnancyandbaby2frm14

We all know that BM is best but people can be pushy in here so give that group
a try Unless you really want to keep trying to BF then these women can
probably help you achieve that goal and give you some great advice on what
steps you might want to take. I have to give them that much.

Computers should come with breathalyzers and double digit lockouts for people
like you, dimwit.

But please, in your zeal to address the issue, please do not give BAD
advice. Karo is not good for babies. And anyway, if the OP is not in the US
they won't have a clue one what 'karo' is.

Try: dark corn syrup. Except of course it's not recommended. And for all
that the moms over on the linked board may have advice, let us hope that it
is medically sound advice and not "Well I know it's not recommended by
doctors, but it worked for me."

Karo has been recomended by Dr.s though. As I have posted before I was told
to use it with Bonnie. I was told to use 2 teaspoons I think in 4 oz of
formula... I used 1 teaspoon and it worked fine.

Apparently, feeding Karo syrup increases the risk of infant botulism
by just over five times.

Best wishes,
Ericka

Oh but that is just it, it has been recommended by many doctors.

So then can anyone explain why doctors recommend it?
