The debate on the dangerous of meth to children have included some
scientific research and some opinion and commentary. Some of this from
experts and some not.

What surfaces in all this for me is that the argument that 'damage has
not been proven' boils down to this: do we wish to allow
methamphetamine experiments on children fetuses by their caregivers?

.... "
"These findings show a direct relationship between changes in the brain
chemistry of methamphetamine abusers and functional changes in
behavior,"" Dr. Alan I. Leshner, director of NIDA, said. "The results
underscore the serious nature of methamphetamine abuse and emphasize
the need to alert users and potential users to the long-lasting,
profound effects of this drug."

What researchers involved in that study did not expect to find was an
overall increase in glucose metabolism in the brains of meth users.
According to the NIH, this suggests an inflammatory reaction in the
parietal cortex region, which is involved in sensation and in spatial
perception.

Dr. Nora Volkow, one researcher in the study, said the unexpected
result showed that changes produced by methamphetamine are not limited
to the dopamine system.

Unfortunately, questions remain about whether the effects of
methamphetamine abuse on the human brain are permanent and whether the
effects can predispose some people to develop neurodegenerative
diseases later in life.

One each in two news groups. Why?

That beyond your capacity to deal with?

Why do you not attribute the posters comments so that any reader can
understand what you are talking about without having to review the
entire thread....where I notice you still often refer to things not in
evidence?

At least give them a chance...a better one than you gave the child.
