Grand Jury watch- Palm B. Co., FL, too.List keeps growin'

The July 1 grand jury report said the DCF – despite improvements –
continues to leave Palm Beach County children at risk three years after a
report criticized the agency over the deaths of two boys and the near-fatal
abuse of a girl.
The 51-page jury report coincided with the release of a state investigation
indicating that the DCF’s two administrators – secretary Jerry Regier and
deputy Ben Harris – accepted paid trips from a contractor. The two public
servants reportedly made overnight stays at the contractor’s $2.8 million
beach house; accepted tickets to see Elton John, Alabama, Cher and the Daytona
500; and enjoyed massages at resorts in California, Las Vegas and Australia.
Meanwhile, according to the grand jury, the DCF has steadily neglected and
outright ignored many critical problems.
