Hehe, I won! ;-) Amazing though that it was on the 13th, I thought of you
when my waters broke early morning, but I see in your sig-line you made it
at least to the 19th...

Thanks for taking some of your precious spare time to
send us an update Ilse! It sounds like things are going
really well, and I hope the good news continues (esp.
regarding DS2's kidney).

I'm not surprised your back pain has returned, with
nursing and all the other baby carrying you must be doing.
I hope that you'll have time to sort out your erganomics
and that that will help it get better!

I should know better than to try to race someone carrying
twins with an earlier due date, no less! I've made it to the
23rd, in fact...

I am so glad things are going so well for you Ilse!

You are right, children are miracles.

It's been busy busy busy, but at the same time, it's been a marvel and
enormous joy to have *two* such little creatures to care for. I
haven't even had time to read all the replies to the birth
announcement, but it's been truly amazing to see so many people have
been following my story. I feel blessed to have found so many friends
here and I wish I had time to reply to each of you in person.

DD has recovered from her dip and is gaining strength day by day. She
was back on her birthweight this monday. Today she nursed with me
like she has never been bottle fed! She is finally starting to wake
up for her feedings and drinking enough, so we are going to switch
her to nursing one by one feeding.

Sounds great :-)!

DS2 has been tested for reflux in his urinary tract, and nothing was
found. The cause of his enlarged kidney is still unclear. We've not
heard from the u/s scan whether it is getting smaller or not. He is
on a low dose antibiotics to prevent infections, but has no problems
with it so far. Next week both kids are due for a check-up with the
pediatrician, and in another week they will test him for kidney
damage. In spite of everything, he is doing very well.

I hope you'll get good news about the kidney soon, and I'm very glad he
is doing so well.

I have caught up with the milk production and both kids are off
formula since yesterday. It is a matter of pride that no matter what,
the twins will grow on mommy-milk for at least 6 months. I am
starting to build a small supply, so I don't have to pump in the
middle of the night. Only one downpoint: my backproblems have
returned with a vengeance and today I was seriously frustrated that I
couldn't even lift my own babies from their crib. Luckily DH is home
for the week, and things are improving quickly,

Ouch, I hope it will get better for you soon!

WTG DS1 :=D!

We make time for him whenever
possible, and amazingly, we find ourselves with some spare time every
now and then (like now). We are tired, but not exhausted (yet) and
thoroughly enjoying every spare moment we have. Children are such
miracles!

You bet.

Glad to hear everything (minus the odd inconvenience) is going well,
Ilse! You'll catch up on all the replies... I'm sure your posts are
among the best read in this ng :-)

Ilse, I checked back in today after so many months away, and I am so,
so, so, happy for you and your family. Twins are so sweet to each
other. I hope you get so much joy when you see how much they will
love each other. I don't know what your sleeping arrangments are, but
my boys have always slept together in the same crib. They snuggle
and pile on top of one another like puppies and sleep like champs --
sleeping through the night from four weeks on.

Again, congrats and congrats and congrats! Best of luck, health, and
life to all.

Thanks so much for posting Ilse .... I figured you were busy with two
newborns but we were starting to worry!
I'm so pleased to read how well you are all doing.
hugs
