Hmmmmm. I just went into my Preferences menu to check this out. I
have an 'identity' section, but mail and newsgroups are lumped
together and allows for one addy, so it doesn't look like I can change
my identity for just groups.

(Messenger) function of Netscape to read email (Netscape 4.74 since I
hear the 6. versions are buggy with Apple Mac).

Can't ypu adjust your email settings so that the address for your news
account isn't your actuial email address? I post using Outlook
Express, usually, and to avoid spam I simply have a fake email address
in the properties for that account. Not sure how Netscape works
though!
