Default Is it possible?

That after only 3 days of taking Zoloft I already feel so much better?

I took my kids to school this morning, and have managed some housework too!
I felt so depressed for so long, that I had forgotten how I used to feel.
The only side effects so far is a very dry mouth and a loss of appetite, but
DH is making me eat!

Phew seem to be winning the fight against PPD!

A black crow stole my soul, and now I want it back. (For those with PPD).

I felt the same after a week on Prozac. Apparently it was too soon for it to
be working. But hey who cares, if it's placebo effect then so be it. If you
feel better you feel better, don't worry how or why!

Just be aware that even on anti-depressants there are still ups and downs.
Don't be surprised if you feel a little low again now and then.

Well done Andrea, it takes a lot of strength to admit to and seek help for
depression.

I swear the same thing happened to me. Within a week I was a completely
different person. I had been on a few other things but nothing like the
Zoloft. I stopped taking it when I got pregnant this time around and I dont
*need* it now but sometimes I wish I still felt that good!! It was a total
stress blocker for me

I felt better within 20 minutes of taking my first Prozac. I swear to god,
it's true. It was probably placebo effect, but it *stayed*, and who cares? I
wasn't crying non-stop anymore (when I was in the hospital during my last
pregnancy and dealing with MIL problems).

My doctor said it wasn't likely, but it wasn't impossible. And the point is,
I felt better. And so do you.

I think the fact that just surrendering to the fact that you need meds and
taking them takes a tremendous mental weight off. I swear I feel better
sometimes just driving home from the pharmacy with them in the bag. As mothers
I think we are so used to taking care of everyone else that we rarely stop and
take care of ourselves. It is like a breath of fresh air (pardon the cliche)
that when we do it just feels better. I also think that knowing you are not
alone is a great help too and having someone acknowledge that you are not just
batty is another great relief. I have suffered from depression most of my
adult life, PPD after my 1st and 3rd pregnancy but not the 2nd, go figure, I
did not need meds with #2 until after she stopped nursing at 18mos, this time I
have been on Zoloft since DD was 3mos. Glad you are feeling better.
