My OB appointment
Well I was supposed to go to my OB today but all of her appointments are
cancled for awhile. She was in some kind of accident and broke her ankle and has to have surgery done. I was completely shooked! Once her office knows more they will call back to set up another appointment. In the mean time my bleeding is slowing down...Does this mean that my m/c is almost over??? I put the tissue I was saving for this appointment in the freezer so I can still take it to her, I guess that will be fine. Other than server pain and a high fever, what else should I look out for? Like I said it is slowing down now, but since I didn't get to see my doc I don't know if I passed all the tissue I needed too. I just don't want to get an infection, but if I start going down hill I'll just go to the ER. So I'm back to just waiting to see what happens. Julie |

Your ob should have someone on call for her, so if you do need to talk to someone go ahead and get the service to page that doctor. Probably they can answer these questions on the phone. Here's some things you may want to ask: (1) How will I know if the miscarriage is complete? What should I look for to tell me that I need to see a doctor, rather than just wait for my cycle to reset? (2) If I am Rh- and my husband is Rh+, what is the risk of sensitization in my situation if I don't take a Rhogam shot soon? (If you are sure of your dates) was my embryo even far along enough to have developed blood? (3) How long do you recommend before trying again? After my early miscarriage I was offered a consultation to answer any questions I had; also I was offered a follow-up examination about a month or six weeks after the m/c, at my option. I took the consultation, but felt like my cycle was nice and reset so I skipped the examination appointment. My doc said wait 3 months to TTC. But from what I was reading it's also common for a doc to be less conservative and say wait until after your first normal period. |
