Default preterm contractions and bleeding at 30 weeks

Good Luck, don't feel too bad about not being able to take the usual meds,
they are not used in many countries and there is minimial research that
indicates whether they are good or not. Bedrest on the other hand seems to
have good results, I don't know about the research, but I've heard of far
too many people who have the baby as soon as they are off bedrest for me to
ignore it! You might like to join a group such as bedrestbookbuddies, on
yahoo groups.

Thanks everyone for your comments... I've survived yet another trip (3
now) to L&D for several hours of monitoring in just the past 6 days. My
cervix is soft and a little open, but no change from Monday, which is
when I was in there last. The ctx are less frequent during rest, so
obviously my doc has put me on bedrest, with frequent trips to the clinic
for cervical check. I'm taking the Vistaril regularly, but can't take the
terbutaline because I have atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat)
which is exacerbated by this med.

Doc says I just need to keep her in there til 35 weeks! I'm trying
darnit!

Good luck with the bedrest and keeping her inside! Even if you don't
make it to 35 weeks, every week and even every day you can is better
for her!

Ditto everything Emily said.
