Default Elective C-sections

*WHY* do so many women want them? Is it so they can get more pity and "Oh you poor thing, are you
ok? type comments? Just for special attention?

C-sections should *only* be carried out in the way they were meant to be.... in EMERGENIES only.

Some women don't want any of the pain of labor, but I don't think they
realize the pain of recovery is worse than recovering from a vaginal
birth.

That is very very true. I've had 2 vaginal borths and one emergency c, and would never *ask* for a
c just for the sake of it.

Will it make any difference if I tell you my name is Chantelle, and the only reason I chose "cats
bum" was because I couldn't think of any other name to use for usenet?

Anyway I am 14 weeks pg with my 4th. Have had no morning sickness as yet, just very very hungry.
I come from Western NSW and I have 2 boys aged 12 & 8 and a daughter aged 5.

Do you think so little of other women that this is the only
reason you can come up with? There are dozens of reasons. The
biggest driver currently in the US is the decrease in access to VBACs.
Primary c/s are up largely due to an increase in inductions, some
for convenience, and others "for cause" (where there is much dispute
whether the causes are truly warranted). While convenience c-sections
are on the rise, they still comprise a very small percentage of all
c-sections. C-sections rates are way too high, but the substantial
majority are advised by doctors for supposed medical reasons.

Best wishes,
Ericka

Medical reasons are obviously different, but like I said, if they just want the c for the sake of
it, then they're being silly.

you know what chantelle? it makes all the difference. I for one get
suspicious when i see people jumping in with slightly inflammatory posts,
but at the same time seeming to know a few things about a few people, like
real names.

were your children delivered naturally?
