News of the Okies - 9/15/03

Just a few tidbits of news of the Okies.
Not much out of the ordinary, really.

(1) First off comes news out of Bartlesville, heir apparent to
Delaware County as the sex crimes capitol of Oklahoma, of an 8 year
old girl working as the 'money bucket cashier' at the family's 'ho
house'. Evidently 'daddy' had used an older sibling as a child
prostitute years before and was having to settle for using 'mom',
while he trained the 8 year old in the 'ins and outs of the business'.

Husband, wife accused of running prostitution business out of home

A Bartlesville husband and wife are currently being held in the
Washington County Jail under suspicion of running a house of
prostitution out of their home at 1552 S.W. Elm. Ave.

Authorities contend that the actions of Charles Harris Benners, 55,
and his wife Beverly Ann Benners, 50, were compounded by the
allegation that the couple's 8-year-old daughter played a part in the
business.

Charles will face charges of child prostitution, child abuse,
operating a place of prostitution, possession of obscene material,
violation of Oklahoma Statute via computer and procuring of
prostitution.

(2) Then there's this, on the medical front. Evidently Dr. Rarick was
attempting to devise a new method for 'taking temperatures', or
something...

Accused doctor loses his license

The medical license of a Lawton doctor has been revoked by state
authorities while he faces charges of performing sexual acts on two
brothers while they were his patients.

From 1999 through April, Dr. Joseph F. Rarick had oral sex with
brothers now 15 and 16, according to the state Board of Medical
Licensure and Supervision.

(3) Meanwhile, still on the medical front.

Maybe this young lady was a patient of Dr. Rarick at one time or the
other. Who knows? In any case, is there much doubt as to how the
child became infected? I mean, after all, This Is Oklahoma(tm).

(4) Speaking of kids.
Uncle JC's Kid(tm) is back in the news again.
No he didn't get stabbed again.
Or even shot.
Last year he got busted for selling pot.
Normally such an arrest in Oklahoma will lead to a very long stay in
one of Oklahoma's many prisons. I guess when the dope dealer is the
son of an ex-jock/ex-corporation commissioner/ex-congressman, dope
dealing just isn't that big a deal...

Ex-lawmaker's son gets deferred sentence
2003-09-12

NORMAN -- Jerrell Christopher Watts of Norman has been given a
two-year deferred sentence on a drug-related charge.
Watts was sentenced Wednesday in Cleveland County District Court after
pleading no contest to a felony count of possession of marijuana with
intent to distribute.
