When Flynn was born, I saw a cot at the nurses station with the name
Destanee on it. Ick.

I also saw an 'interesting' name badge at the supermarket this afternoon
- Mylyssah.

For my job I get to read LOTS of newspapers from all over the
state...therefore I see lots of birth announcements. I've been keeping a
list...my favorites so far are Kix (just like the cereal or the 80s
hair-metal band),

Lol, I thought cereal.

Neafateria (have no idea where that one came from)

That looks like a mix of a few names.

and
Mackenlee. I had to say that one out loud a few times to get that it was
a variant of McKinley, because my English-only brain kept seeing
MACK-en-lee, not Mac-KIN-lee.

Oh I said that the same way as you.

Oh, and also twins named Glitter and Glamour.

My neice's middle name is MacKenzie, spelt like that. I didn't
realize there were different ways to spell it.

Well, there is McKenzie, but they are the only two I know!

My friend's daughter's first name is MacKenzie. When I used to teach
swimming lessons I met lots of kids with the name MacKenzie (never seen
McKenzie), but they were all boys. I think it is becoming more popular
as a girl's name.

The youngest girl on Seventh Heavens real name is Mackenzie and it became
popular after that show came out. Just like after Dr. Quin came out their
was a zillion Micheala's Born. This makes me nervous as we have planned on
having Anna be our next daughters name since Jeff and I got married.. we had
a list of 4 or 5 names for girls and boys picked out.. This past season on
The OC there was a girl named Anna. I am hoping Marissa or Summer will be
the pop names instead

I'd use Marissa in a heartbeat if we didn't have an M last name.

I have a cousin Michaela who was born *way* before Dr Quinn

Tori, Anna is a classic, elegant name that will never go out of style like
whatever this year's trendy name is. I think "Anna" is gorgeous.

I had never heard that name until Dr. Quin came out and then it seemed like
everyone had a child with that name. Now I know tons of people named
Michaela but none of them are spelled the same way. My friend Deb spells it
Makaila.

I know an adult woman named Mackenzie (not sure of how she spells it).

My teenage brother has an unusual name that I've, unfortunately, started
to hear for little girls now.
