Default Doctors treatment and finacial ties to drug maker

A recent article in the NYT raised the unpleasant prospect that
children may be being given powerful psychiatric drugs because of the
financial relationship doctors have with drug makers.
" Psychiatrists, Children and Drug Industry's Role'

By GARDINER HARRIS, BENEDICT CAREY and JANET ROBERTS
Published: May 10, 2007 New York Times
" When Anya Bailey developed an eating disorder after her 12th
birthday, her mother took her to a psychiatrist at the University of
Minnesota who prescribed a powerful antipsychotic drug called
Risperdal.".. The article notes that this is a powerful drug and "is
not approved to treat eating disorders,' but increased appetite is a
common side effect and doctors may prescribe drugs as they see
fit." .
The drug worked Anya put on pounds ... "but within two years
developed a crippling knot in her back. She now receives regular
injections of Botox to unclench her back muscles. She often awakens
crying in pain. "
Anyas mother according to the article.....''had no idea that
children might be especially susceptible to Risperdal's side
effects The article notes that the influence of
money on medicine has evoked an emotional debate and according to the
Times .... " Nowhere is that more true than in psychiatry, where
increasing payments to doctors have coincided with the growing use in
children of a relatively new class of drugs known as atypical
antipsychotics" the Times notes that .. "half a million children
in the United States to help parents deal with behavior problems
despite profound risks and almost no approved uses for minors."
The times notes the amount of influence drug makers have in the
system.... From the times
"Drug makers underwrite decision makers at every level of care.
They pay doctors who prescribe and recommend drugs, teach about the
underlying diseases, perform studies and write guidelines that other
doctors often feel bound to follow." and it also observed
that .."Those who took the most money from makers of atypicals tended
to prescribe the drugs to children the most often, the data suggest.'
Times article the same times article notes ... " But studies
present
strong evidence that financial interests can affect decisions, often
without people knowing it."
Is such practice dangerous at least one authority thinks so
according to the Times ..."Such payments could encourage
psychiatrists
to use drugs in ways that endanger patients' physical health, said
Dr.
Steven E. Hyman, the provost of Harvard University and former
director
of the National Institute of Mental Health"

WARNING, Vinnie loves to selectively edit. This article was four pages
in the NYTimes website.

Read it for yourself and make up your own mind.

If there was any doubt left, this article will erase that. There
won't be ANY intelligent people left who will not know that BIG PHARMA
is out to hook everybody on powerful drugs. This also relates to the
genocide program that certain elite groups are out to promote!! All
people must RISE UP now and tell BIG PHARMA a very loug NO to their
pill-pushing ways.

More people have been maimed and DIED due to the side-effects of
perscription drugs, this is an undeniable FACT!!

Please forward this article to 1000 of your closest friends and family
and tell them to do the same!! The only people who would oppose this,
and I doubt there will be any, will be your garden-variety crack-pots,
kooks and those that have direct ties to the Medical-Industrial
Complex. Remeber people, the AMA really means the American
Malpractice Association!!! Pass it on! ˜µ

Poor Proby, all he has are fart-jokes. This is what happens to ALL
promoters of phony spin-dromes, they end up with nothing except stale
(pun-intended) jokes and a strung-out ego. Please people, don't let
this happen to you, just say NO to a force-medication regiment which
will leave you brain-dead, like Proby and his Cult!!
