Nah. Democrats are in favor of stability, family, and self-sacrifice, too.
Republicans just like to pound their chests about it more g.

good point. thanks for the reminder.

by the way, i just love the name "Helena" for your fourth (goes great
with your last name and the other kid's names) and my husband just hates
it (like you said your husband does?) i thought that was funny.

Unusual names rule as long as they are well-thought out and meaningful. I
like to see an unusal name as opposed to yet another (sorry if you have
named your kid this!) Katelyn or Savannah or Madison. Great names but when
people get to using them then EVERYBODY uses them!

Someone I know names his kids weird names, off the beaten path of today.
Shocks all the older ladies with Thurston and Cassiopaeia (I can't spell it
but it is the constellation....).....both names that, although I know of a
couple Thurstons such as the uber-cool Thurston from Sonic Youth...I don't
know a Cassieopaeia. People roll their eyes but I think it's really cool. I
wouldn't name my kids that but I too would like a more unique name for my
kids. That's my opinion (and truthfully I will chicken out, my DH is
conservative and actually I have an old fashioned streak, and love Mary
Katherine!) I also have a unique Jones and would love to name my girl
Elspeth or you know....something.....

Whenever I suggest something a little offbeat, my husband counters with
"Myparentsthoughgettingpickedoninschoolwouldbuildc haracter Reynolds"
I kind of agree with him, but having picked a name I *thought* was unusual
these days (Grace) only to find it's heading rapidly to the top of the charts,
something like Calliope was looking pretty good :*)
