Default Leslie -- leg cramps??

Hey, Leslie -- how did you end up getting rid of your calf cramps (or did
you?)? I just had a horrible one this morning -- I think I scared DH with
my sudden burst of obsenities... Of course, he progressed very rapidly
from "what's wrong?? are you OK???" to "stop screaming and TELL ME WHAT'S
WRONG???" -- as if I was purposely *not* telling him. :P So did you try
the calcium or what?

((emily)) I know how bad that feels!!

I have not had any more. I take calcium and magnesium some times. But
honestly, I am having trouble making myself take my vitamins at all. this is
going to sound crazy but it just seems like too much work. All I want to do
right now is sleep or sit in a chair. I believe I am depressed.

I think I am depressed as well... think it will go away when the baby is
born or do you suspect PPD this time as well? i had to force myself to do
"nesting" things like clean out a spot to put the bassinett and put safety
locks on the dresser in Bonnies room because she keeps taking all the cloths
out.. now I have to force myself to put all the cloths away again *sigh*
Last night DH woke up to go to work and he asked what I did that day because
the house was a wreck and the dishes still where dirty and I said
"absolutely nothing.." I had not even made supper at that point other then
for Bonnie.

Eat a banana. The thinking with leg cramps is not enough calcium, magnesium
and potassium. If you can incorporate foods with these things in them, then
the cramps will go away.

From what you write, I believe you might be as well. Have you mentioned
this to your doctor? S/he might have some suggestions for you that don't
include medication. I can't remember what my dr had me do a few years
back...I think she had me add vitamin E supplements, then put me on
BuSpar. (I wasn't pregnant at the time BTW, and I've been off BuSpar for
2 years now)

I remember feeling just soooooo tired, like my blood was lead within my
veins. I could barely keep awake at work, but couldn't stay asleep at
night. The whole deal sucked. If you feel even vaguely like I did at
that time, I feel for you and I hope you feel MUCH better really SOON!

Hugs,
Rebecca

i usually get my leg cramps when i strecth my legs. ive prevented almost
every one and this is what you do. when you feel one coming on or it has
already started just put your foot down and put pressure on it or with
your leg straight out, tilt your foot straight up towards your body. it
works!

Thanks, Lindy -- I will try that! I did notice that making an effort not
to stretch my legs seemed to help. It's such a habit when I wake up,
though!!

Well, in my first three pregnancies I felt find all during pregnancy, then
cried constantly for about a month after each one. Last time I had a lot of
the anxiety I am having now, and really reltaively no ppd, just a little
weepiness at the beginning. This is the first time I can recall feeling
depressed, and I hope it means I'm going to feel great after she arrives! If I
don't, though, I'm going to be looking for drugs pretty damn quick.

Yes, oh yes, everything is such an effort. Thank God, we finally went out
today and found a chest of drawers so I can put all her clothes away. Then I
will really feel I have accomplished something.

Last night DH woke up to go to work and he asked what I did that day because
the house was a wreck and the dishes still where dirty and I said
"absolutely nothing.." I had not even made supper at that point other then

Sounds like me. I rarely manage to make a decent dinner . . . luckily my kids
are old enough to fend for themselves. If I make one phone call in a day I
feel I've done a lot. Of course, there are certain things I have to do every
day: the laundry, the dishes, picking the kids up from school, homeschooling
Teddy. But the mess remains.
