I think what was hard was not realizing both kids didn't
need me at the same time. One could wait and no one
would die.

That would be harder, the smaller the age gap, I think, because the
younger the older kid is, the more often they need something from you.
So far, knock on wood, I haven't had too many conflicts where they both
want something *now*. I can tell when Jaden's getting ready to eat with
enough warning before he gets really upset, that I can tell Julie I'm
about to feed him and ask if she wants me to get her anything before
doing so. And she's old enough to tell me.

It was dinner, bathm and bedtime that was
the hardest. It's still my least favorite time of day. I felt
like with jsut Charlotte I could still do what I wanted when
I wanted to an extent.

I hate that time of day too. I just want to be somewhere else from
about 6:00 to 9:00 pm every day. Unfortunately that's the only time of
day DH sees me so he thinks I'm a crabby, nervous wreck all day long.

Mom to Julie, 2 yr., 7 mo.
And Jaden, 2 months

Cleaning the house while your children are small is like
shoveling the sidewalk while it's still snowing.

Sounds like your gap works really well
