Default Cradle Cap cure!

I normally do not post, but I had searched these groups about 3 months
ago looking for a cure for my newborn's cradle cap. It was the worst
case I had ever seen. We tried everything, and it still stayed, after
everyone's suggestions did not work, I finally found Paul Mitchell's
Baby Don't Cry shampoo....and POOF! It was gone! Thanks to these
groups, I would have never tried that shampoo. If I had tried it
first, I might have saved us a lot of worry & money!
My son also had excema, to the point of infection, but after the
doctor took one look at him, he knew what to recommend. We switched
formulas, applied antibiotic, as well as gave oral antibiotic &
hydrocotisone. It cleared up within a matter of days...Our poor baby
has been through so much for such a young age of 4 months....acne,
cradle cap & excema.....but now is just fine & looking good!

My first son was the same way with all those problems. Once we changed
formula and put meds on his bleeding eczema he was fine. I used to scrub his
cradle cap but it would bleed and he would lose hair. I put his eczema cream
on his head and it helped. Now at 6 years old his skin is still funny. I
wonder if that shampoo would help him now. He still gets a dry cradle cap
type rash on his head.

Can't hurt to try. I plan on using it on my 6 year old also, even
though he has no skin or scalp problems.
good luck

Nobody told you not to do that?!

I was told not to scrub or pick at the cradle cap because the skin underneath
would come off too. The usual treatment I have heard is to massage an oil
into it, leave for a while, and then shampoo. Anything that doesn't come off
should be left where it is till next time.

I was a new mother and didn't know any better. My Mom told me not to do it.
The Dr. he was seeing was useless. He didn't believe it was an allergy until
I went ahead and changed formulas on my own. I didn't realize it was mostly
eczema and I was just making it worse. I've learned since then.
