Your elections seem to take months. Large groups of people seem to stand
around waving signs, from what I see on TV.
Here in New Zealand, everybody entitled to vote is put on an electoral
role,
and we just turn up at the polling booth and vote.

Of course, Kiwis are generally much cooler than us! After all,
our nation's only circa 200 years old. We'll get hipper/smarter, I'm
sure/hope/pray!!

New Zealand as a separate nation is much less than 200 years old. It was
formerly a colony of Britain. Of course the Maori have been here for over
1000 years, and the Moriori for some time previously.
Before that, New Zealand belonged to the birds!

I think your big problem in U.S.A is the enormous size of the country, and
the way different states have their own laws.
