Early contractions. Oops.
On Friday I had my 23 week appt. with my midwife and basically got in
"trouble" for not contacting her about the cramping and discomfort I have been having at work and post work. I truly thought it was because of the work I do AND being #4 pregnancy. Well, I was wrong. Dang it. After a horrible weekend of cramping I felt better yesterday, but began having mild waves of discomfort again today (I'm avoiding the whole contraction term. heehee) so finally called the midwife to chat. Needless to say I was sent down the hall from my unit to Maternity for monitoring. Ahhh, resting with my feet up was heaven I had several while there, but each one was less than the previous and within a very short time I was feeling much better and back to nearly normal. Yeah! So, now I am to check in a bit more often and keep track of what's going on instead of feigning ignorance. Fortunately everything is great with baby and my cervix so I will carry on as tolerated. Anyone else have a very active uterus at this stage? Kelly #4 2/12/05 |

Anyone else have a very active uterus at this stage? Yes. I started feeling BH contractions at around 6.5 weeks so I was searching through Google and other sources to check up on it. A post from Elfanie said that that is a fairly common time for contractions to start even though most women don't feel them then so I decided that I'm normal after all. When I had an ultrasound at 12 weeks I felt a contraction and the ultrasound lady told me she saw it at the same time so I asked her about it and she told me I'm normal. At the moment I'm having a few noticeable contractions every day with more on days that I don't drink enough water. They're never consistent though, not really coming in waves like you described. -- Cheryl Mum to Shrimp (11 Mar 99), Thud (4 Oct 00) Mischief (30 Jul 02) + someone new due Feb 05 |

Yeah! I started having contractions around 25 weeks & now I'm 31 weeks and
I have them every day in varying degrees. My ob said that as long as I wasn't having "bloody show" (I assume that just means passing blood??) and the contractions aren't really measurable, then it's nothing to be concerned about. This is my 2nd baby & I don't remember having them with my first. They feel like menstrual cramps! Heather "Kelly" wrote in message ... I don't remember much from #1, either. I'm sure I had BH's, but much much
later. These are much more uncomfortable, but hello-it is #4 I keep telling myself this. Kelly #4 2/12/05 "Heather Kitchen" wrote in message ... Yeah!
