Doctor requested another HCG Test

Hi everyone,

I am currently about 6-7 weeks along and I've already had 3 hcg tests.
The first was on 21-22 DPO and was at 59 and the 2nd was a week later
(28-29 DPO) and was at 1232. After the results of the 2nd test, the
nurse told me everything looked good but the doctor wanted me to take
another one today. I went this morning but then got to thinking and
wondered why I needed this one. Is something wrong - are they not
telling me something or is this just normal procedure??

I know paranoia is normal for pregnant women but how about a 3rd hcg
test?

I don't think they suspect anything wrong, they just might want to be extra
safe. As a woman who dealt with infertility and had multiple repeat betas,
it didn't raise a red flag. I hope the number is nice and high, and you are
feeling more confident soon!

Well I don't think it is standard practice to have even one beta hcg,
let alone three, but your numbers look really good so I don't know why
they'd order a third. Is there something in your history (previous
loss, ectopic, infertility treatments etc)?

Probably it's all good.
