All,

I read only a small sample of the messages in this
newsgroup. My interest is in general health, and
certainly knowing how to feed a baby in the only
correct way is a big part of that.

I just want to say that I am greatly impressed with
the effort you mothers expend, often against ridiculous
opposition, to do what is right for your children. They
will greatly benefit from this, and through them so
will our whole society. I just wish the rest of the
mothers in the world wake up and (allowing a few
exceptions for some who cannot) see how stupid and/or
selfish they have been.

Thank you. The dirty little secret, though, is that it is often much easier
to suckle babies and be there for them than it is to train them to be well
behaved little quasi-adults before their time. Around me I see
bottlefeeding mothers who are less attached have a much rougher time of
it--at least from my perspective. I don't have to worry about my kid being
constipated, vitamin deficient, eczematous, sick all the time, or acting up
and crying alone in a separate room at night. I'm too lazy to borrow that
kind of trouble.
