Pregnancy Without Pounds
• How much weight SHOULD I gain? Am I gaining too fast?
• What exercises can I do to stay toned? How can I gain weight only in my tummy area? • What should I eat? What do I need to avoid? • Will my stomach ever go back to normal? • How can I prevent stretch marks, sagging breasts and cellulite? • Will my pregnancy mask ever go away? • What can I do to have an easy delivery? • What should I be doing now to speed up my weight loss after? Pregnancy Without Pounds
hey there simon
i know this message is kinna old and for all i know you probably had the baby already but anyway i thought you had some very valid concerns in fact so many pregnant women have these exact same questions and fears that there are tons and tons of books and information out there on the subject a book called "what to expect when you're expecting" by arlene eisenburg, heidi murkoff and sandee hathaway is a brilliant book which answers so many questions on how to stay in shape, what to eat and what not to eat, how to continue having sex(comfortably), how to deal with labour, and how to work out so you have an eaiser time during labour and an easier time getting your body back after the delivery. it talks about strengthening your pelvic floor muscles by doing kegel exercises (this also helps have a quicker delivery) it also talks about how much weight is safe to gain (some women gain too little and some too much both can be bad for the baby) having the weight of a baby inside you for 40 weeks can not only be uncomfortable but draining as the baby zaps all your energy so it can grow so don't be ashamed you are asking all the right questions. it can be a very scary thing to have your body taken over by a baby and not know any answers especially if you have nooone to turn to for advice so good luck let us know when the baby is due |

there on the
subject a book called "what to expect when you're expecting" by arlene eisenburg, heidi murkoff and sandee hathaway is a brilliant book which answers so many questions Actually, many people here on the news groups consider this to be one of the worst pregnancy books out there. Much of the information and advice is just plain WRONG, the dietary stuff is ludicrous and impossible for 99.9% of women to follow (even if they wanted to!), and it spends more time telling women how to be good compliant patients who do what the doctor tells them, than giving them useful information on how to make their own educated choices. Most of the 'good information' in the book is available in many other books as well (any decent pregnancy book will have info on Kegal exercises, sex in pregnancy, etc.), without requiring the reader to wade through the garbage. Here are books that I think are much better: The Pregnancy Book by William and Martha Sears (Best overall book) The Birth Book by William and Martha Sears Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way by Susan McCutcheon The above were my favorites, but also good a The Complete Book of Pregnancy and Childbirth by Sheila Kitzinger Conception, Pregnancy, and Birth by Miriam Stoppard A Child is Born by Lennart Nilsson (lots of pretty pictures) Just my .02. Pregnancy Without Pounds
This message is old, but maybe it is not too late or are still
pregnant. My OB/GYN advised me on all me eating habits and the appropriate weight gain and exercise. Keep in mind that every woman and every pregnancy takes on characteristics of their own. I didn't gain much weight with either of my pregnancies in the first 2 trimesters, however, in that third, particularly the 8th month, I had a significant gain. But my overall gain was fine per my OB/Gyn. As far as the stretch marks, it depends on your skin type, sometimes they leave scars sometimes they don't. They say cocoa butter works and they sell all kinds of creams and balms, personally, I am not convinced that any of it works. I used cocoa butter faithfully a couple times a day and I still have a few stretch marks. However, they do fade over time and eventually your body gets back to normal even though it is hard to see that at 9 months pregnant. Hope this helps.
