Default 6 week ultrasound-what can I expect to see?

Had the 6 week prenatal today, and am scheduled for a level III u/s on
Thursday. I've never had one this early (last time I didn't even know I was
pregnant this early!)-so what can I expect?

You will probably see a tiny sac with a yolk sac inside and a shade that
might be the embryo. Finding a heartbeat can be hard at this stage, but
maybe with a level III it could work. You can also see the corpus luteum,
which can look pretty big compared to the sac. They will measure all the
things up and compare to your LMP date to see if everything looks the
right size.

On my first ultrasound I was 9 weeks along and I could actually see my
baby. She looked like a tiny peanut, but it was her! I was excited. That
is when it hit me that I was gonna have a little baby of my own!
