"Vulva" has to be one of the most disgusting words in the English
language.

Need a new purse? Check it out! Seriously.

Why? How about war, genocide, torture, rape, mutilation etc. etc. Aren't
these all vastly more disgusting?

David.

Have you actually seen the magazine cover - you see not a hint of a
nipple. You see the curve of the breast and the kid's face.

You see more in a fashion layout in a magazine or the beach, where you
do see tits, nipples etc. displayed in sexualized ways (i.e. displayed
to tempt and tease).

I'm talking about the *word*, not about what it represents. Please!

Then what about it is ugly? It's got lovely, soft consonants, and nice
open vowels.

Are you being punny? (If so, that was pretty clever...)
It's kind of hard to describe. "Vulva" sounds like "revolvting",
"vulgar".... and no, I'm not sexually repressed.

Sorry, I don't follow you at all. Are you suggesting that the *word* is
disgusting? Why???? what's wrong with it? Does the word "valve" offend you?
or Volvo?, both of which are pretty similar. Volume, vulcanology, Venus,
Vulcan, Vauxhall, Any problem with those?

David.

On a beach? I don't think so. I've been on many a CO beach in my time and
never seen any woman displaying her breasts in an overtly sexual way.

David.
