Ear Infection vaccine?

It's called Prevnar and protects against a number of strains of
pneumonococcal infections, so it's not a silver bullet against all ear
infections. That said, it's recommended by the AAP for all babies under the
age of 2. Honestly, I'd be very surprised if it wasn't on your pediatricians
list of "standard" vaccines. It has been on my pediatrician's schedule since
my daughter was born in 1999.

Are you talking about Prevnar? My daughter had it, but still have
really bad ear infections until she got tubes when she was 7 months
old. Actually, I think that vaccine is for something else, but also
helps prevent some ear infections.

It's a pneumococcus vaccine, not an ear infection vaccine. However,
an estimated 30% of bacterial ear infections are caused by
pneumococcus, so it can reduce the incidence.

It's much more important for making them immune to bacterial
pneumonia, pneumococcal meningitis (20% mortality rate, and 80%
chance of moderate to severe brain damage among the survivors), and
pneumococcal bacterimia (30% mortality rate).

It's on my pediatrician's standard list. I don't think my 7-year-old got
it, but the 19-month-old did. (He got infections in both ears at 11
months, too).

office and most of the times there were kids in there for ear aches
and the doctor would percribe antibotics, what medications will help
get rid of the ear ache without going to see the doctor? Home
remedies. Personally myself i get ear aches a lot and i'm 23 and all i
do is put cotton in my ear to keep the air from hitting it and
sometimes the pain gets really bad and by the time i get to go see the
doctor it's gone away.

And how does this relate to the vaccine?

Kids who get influenza also get ear infections from the influenza infection.
Getting influenze vaccine is about 85% effective in preventing ear
infections from influenze and decreases the rate of ear infections 8-9%
overall.

So getting the influenza vaccine suffer from fewer ear infections.
