Default help I have thrush again!

I had thrush 3 times in 5 months. The first time when after I gave
birth which lasted for 2 months(Cesarian), then when he was 3 month
old. Lasted 3 weeks. Now again when he was 5 months old. I have had it
for the past month. he turns 6 months old soon. I Used fluconozale the
first two times and it worked immediately. The first time I had thrush
I tried everything else but Fluconozale because I was afraid of it
getting into my milk. I took it after two month of suffering and it
worked within days.

Now I have the worst case of thrush possible. I used fluconozalw twice,
gentian violet once, Nystatin once and GSE, HMF, Vitamin B6 all to
combat the thrush. Nothing is working. I use nipple oitment that my Dr
prescribed, Three types. I am dying. It is throbbing, piercing, burning
pain that is unbearable. Burning so much I feel like my breast is on
fire. I can't use ice packs cause the pain is so much that anything is
unbearable to touch my breast. Even after I nurse him my breast throbs
in pain.

My nipples are cracked and bleeding each feed. I've had this latest
infection for 1 month now and I think I've tried it all. I never eat
chocolate or any sweets any how so I had nothing to cut. My pain is so
severe I had to stop nursing him all the time. He still eats every 2
hours and he is now 6 months old. I feel so depressed and upset that I
can't feed my baby becuase of the pain. Its absolutely unbearable. I
have seen three doctors and had an ultrasound to rule out mastitis. I
started him already on cereals and recently vegetables to reduce my
feedings by 2 times. That helps me recover and prepare for the other
feedings. I have to feed him soon and I am dreading it knowing I will
be curling my toes and biting my lips in pain the entire 20 min. as he
eats. He knows I"m in pain...he looks up at me and comes off and on
again. I try not to make a sound, but I want to scream in agony. My Dr
said this happens to some women who nurse and there's not much you can
do but what I've done to combat candida. I am desparate and feel alone
(most my friends gave the bottle) so I have no idea if this is normal
or just me. Everyone sais go to formula, this is somehting I really
want to do. I'm not vaccinating him so I feel at least he'll get the
immunoglobins from the breast milk.

Has anyone had pain like this and what have you done or used.

Agh! That sounds so awful. I might have missed it, but are you treating
your son's mouth? I've heard that both mom and baby must be treated at the
same time or they continue to pass it back and forth.

Try Angela's page for more ideas, like washing your bras in vinegar, etc.:

HTH. You shouldn't have to suffer so badly.

thanks...I did try the gentian Violet which is supposed to work on us
both. I have never boiled my nursing bra adn I do wear nursing pads all
the time and change them religiously. I use topical creams for my
nipples but they dont seem to do much. I think my doctors are giving up
on me. They say they dont know what else to prescribe as they have
tried everything. I feel like I'm the only one having thrush this
continuous and severe.... I will try the boiling water for my bras. I
think the site mentioned some non pharmceutical things as well that I'm
not doing. We'll see....

when you had fluconazole, did you have a course, or a single tablet, the
single tablet is great for vaginal thrush, but doesn't kick it for breast
thrush, though it may give temporary relief, thus appearing to work.

I wonder why you aren't vaccinating, a boy recently died of measles in the
UK, he was from a travelling family, which is a notoriously difficult group
of society to reach to vaccinate, but I wonder had the take up of the
vaccine been higher in the rest of society if he just wouldn't have caught
it. It bugs me when people try and sell vaccination as risk free, because it
isn't, it's just lower risk than the stuff being vaccinated against, these
diseases KILL and disable children.

Cheers

I had a course I think. First I take four tablets the first time I use
it then one tablet three times a day for 2 weeks. I just finished my
last pill last night and I still have pain. I started him on cereals
April 2 and I started veggies 2 weeks ago. He is a voracious eater. I
was measuring one tablespoon but he just cried for more. My DR. said to
feed him until he turns away so he takes about three tablespoons and he
is full. He has 6 feedings in the day before bedtime. Now that I feed
him solids twice a day he eats 4 times. 2-3 are breast depending on my
pain and the remainder are bottle (it kills me to give him a bottle,
only becuse I want so badly to breast feed him. It means so much to me.
But the pain is excruciating and he still spits up blood (my nipple is
just bleeding non stop when he feeds on my right side)

In regards to vaccinating..this is the toughest decision we have had to
make. Im thoroughly confused about this. I work in the field with kids
with neurodevelopmental disorders....In saying that, many parents
contribute their kids delays to the MMR and DPT shots. I dont know if
these are the shots that contributed to the turning point or if it was
the culmination of shots up to this point that did it. My theory is
that the kids that may be predisposed to these disorders may be the
ones that are affected, and the vaccinations kind of set it off.....I
have done extensive research and I still dont know what to do or what
to believe. Mostly everything is written and funded by pharmaceutical
companies so its very biased. I think there are benefits and
disadvantages to both. I have temporarily planned to skip all the shots
until he reaches 3-4 years and then start before he goes to school. I
have not made up my mind yet. I read every night hoping something will
help me come to a decision. I just want to be informed before I do
anything.
